FATHERS OF MODERN PERFUMERY

During this era, there were two Muslim scientists, called Jaber Ibn Al Hayyan and Abu Yusuf Al Kindi, who developed the process of distillation. With their new technology, they were able to extract essential fragrance oils from newer and more unique sources.

With a library of different scents at their fingertips, they were able to create fascinating perfume blends. Together, they were credited for creating hundreds, if not thousands, of amazing fragrances.

As the Muslim empire expanded and trade routes were established between nations, the wonderful creations of Jaber & Kindi began to spread around the world. Their unique recipes and methods of perfume making were passed down from generation to generation, from one country to another, and eventually evolved into perfumery as we know it today.
